Kedem Center- City of David, Jerusalem

Elad Association (project in progress)

This cultural and gathering center is located opposite the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem, on top of the ancient City of David, with total area of 20,000 sq meters, designed by RAHAMIMOFF Architects

The planned building sits above archeological excavations from the time of King David.

The building is planned from concrete walls with stone veneer, pre-stressed concrete ceilings, and sits on deep piles that will be used as columns above the archeological site to allow access to visitors.

On top of the archeological site, halls for events and gathering, an auditorium, showrooms, offices and a balcony with a view of the Old City, are planned. In the side wall that borders the road parallel to the walls, an automatic underground parking lot is planned, for the visitors' convenience.

The perimeter of the site will be lined with piles and steel beams, for protection and to stabilize the ground and the structures that exist around the excavation area.
